Our client requires a Business Development Manager for their office in London.

Our client has a very unique business. They not only deal with basic engineering issues but they build on those because of the research they do. Climate change and energy efficiency in its utmost sophisticated form as well as its basic form, doing such things as air tightness testing, which makes us very sophisticated and diverse in what they do.

Whilst they are rightly proud of their heritage and want to celebrate the wonderful achievements of the last 60 years, they continue to look forward to where the industry is heading and the challenges that lie there. With that in mind, they are looking to recruit the industry best talent to join them and become part of their journey.

This particular vacancy relates to their opening in the Compliance department which offers a wide range of services to help the buildings pass Building Regulatory requirements first time, without delays and at a high standard. This department offers such services as airtightness testing, thermal imaging, sound insulation testing and ventilation testing.

The scope of the role:

Working closely with Business Manager – Compliance and Senior Management team you will contribute to the implementation of the business strategy through development and leading the department sales strategy, maximising business development and sales opportunities, identifying new trends and market demands and responding to those.

Main Duties:

  • In conjunction with the Business Manager develop department Sales Strategy

  • Manage the implementation and delivery of the department Sales strategy

  • Management of relationships with large framework customers

  • Identify new Business opportunities within both existing services agreements and new ones

  • Forecast of sales budgets and conversion of prospects to deliver a budget

  • Create required working processes including CRM processes to ensure effective business operation

  • Develop and manage pricing structures

  • Manage contracts and associated documentation, including authorisation of quotations and proposals

  • Define, manage and measure sales performance against KPIs

  • Undertake promotional activities both on and off-site (nationally and internationally) whenever the need arises. This includes face-to-face sales visits, attendance at exhibitions/networks, participation within their training / promotional events and development, implementation and manages effective sales campaigns

  • In conjunction with the Marketing team, develop and implement strategies for cross-selling and upselling of the companys offerings;

About you:

  • Sound knowledge and technical understanding of Building Regulations and standards are key for this role

  • A B2B technical sales background ideally related to a sector within the construction industry

  • Excellent Commercial acumen

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Business development knowledge and experience

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to negotiate and influence

  • Report writing skills

  • Experience in managing a team of sales professionals

  • Computer literate in Microsoft packages and a working knowledge of CRM systems

Employment:

The post is a nominal 37 hours per week, 8:30 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 8:30 – 16:30 on Fridays. Benefits include a Pension Scheme and 26 days holiday per year. This is an office-based post in Bracknell with the requirement for travelling nationwide.

Salary: £45,000.00 – 49,000.00 per Annum.
